Project Description
Foothills Village Apartments
Foothills Village is owned and operated by the City of Phoenix Housing Department and was a HUD financed project. The 20 acre public housing site has 200 multi-family apartments. This project involved the renovation of 7 buildings and 28 units. Project scope encompassed interior and exterior demolition, complete interior renovations including new finishes, fixtures, doors/windows, paint, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical. New steel cantilever patio canopies were also provided. Three of the seven buildings were converted to ADA units.
During construction, substantial interior plan changes were required due to existing field conditions unknown by the architect during plan development. This resulted in different restroom and kitchen layouts than were originally depicted on the plans. Blackhawk Construction, LLC was able to coordinate with the owner and the design team to implement the necessary changes without disruption to the project.
Blackhawk Construction, LLC performed phased construction for this project. As each building was completed, residents were moved out of the next building. All other buildings remained occupied during construction. This project was completed three months ahead of the contract completion time.
